Madonna’s 12th studio album, MDNA is set to be released OFFICIALLY on March 26th and she has chosen to use her Facebook social media portal as her sole promotional tool. Pretty cool right? I thought so too.
She first announced MDNA this January and performed the album’s lead single, “Give Me All Your Luvin’,” with Nicki Minaj and M.I.A. at the Super Bowl. The halftime performance sparked an incredible amount of buzz which launched her into the number 3 spot on Twitter’s ‘most-tweets-per-second list’.
Madonna has since decided she will be doing a live feed Facebook interview this Saturday, March 24th at 6:00pm ET with Late-night TV host Jimmy Fallon as her one and only spotlight promoting MDNA’s release.
“This interview with me is the only live press she’s doing for the whole thing — it’s crazy” says Fallon.
The chat will be broadcasted in a live-stream on her Facebook page where she is now taking fans questions before the event. Simply “like” her page and you’ve gained access to the semi-exclusive life-stream. Thousands of questions have already begun pouring in on the page and I’m thinking this is a fantastic ‘like’ grab example.
If the strength of social media was not already painfully obviously – I think the queen of pioneering trends has helped turn some of the last heads in the right direction.
