Jen and I set out to create a custom Jack-o-lantern for Jägermeister this Halloween. Their logo is pretty detailed so it seemed like quite the daunting task…

Below you will find some process photos of the 6hr project. The final photo for our client is at the bottom of this post.

Step 1: Trace Logo with Sharpie via projector

Step 2: Carve Logo using various tools. I decided not to go all the way through – so I could keep all the “islands” of the stencil.

Step 3: Finish logo before light and thickness tests.

Step 4: First light test – as you can see the pumpkin was thicker in some spots resulting in not enough light leaking through.

Step 5: Carve deeper to allow more light to leak through.

Step 6: Final light test. Pretty happy with it! Spooky!

Step 7: Final spooky location shoot during the night. This is the final image Jägermeister picked for their Halloween campaign.

On the weekend I once again had the pleasure of checking out a Monster Truck show.  The guys played an unreal show as usual and had the upstairs of the El Mocambo going crazy.

I recently stopped in on the set of the video shoot for “Seven Seas Blues” to bring the guys bottle of Jäger for St. Patty’s and got a sneak peek of how the video is gonna look.

Here’s a ‘making of’ clip the band just put out. Enjoy!

We have a series of Jägermeister Friday The 13th parties happening 04.13.12 in Toronto, Ontario, Montreal, Quebec City, Edmonton, Alberta, Vancouver and Victoria.

Each party will have a 4×8 party cage. We spent the day building a prototype. The vibe is something found in a Mad Max  back alley environment.

A few weeks ago we created a fun new way to share favourite drink reciepes and explore new drinks. Office Happy Hour!

For my turn I introduced our team to the “420″…it’s been a favourite summer drink of mine. It’s the type of drink you mix up on the fly or work into a summer trip to Toronto Island.

  • How To:
  • 1 shot Vodka (I prefer Russian Prince cause it’s cheap and dirty…but use what ya got)
  • 1 shot Sour Apple (If it’s green it makes you GO GO GO!)
  • 1 part Apple Juice (from a can is always better…but use what ya got)
  • 1 part Orangina (Mmmmm!)
  • 1 part 7UP (Bring Fido Dido back. He was rad…just saying)
  • 1 part Cranberry juice (this is for colour only…helps swamp up the taste too)
  • 1/2 can of PBR (you will usually have these with you anyways)
  • 1 shot ice cold Jäger (sits on the top or sinks to the bottom…all depends)

You can mix these individually or make a 2L to go. I recomend the latter. Smooth sailing.

Jägermeister Hunting Lodge

Jägermeister Australia reactivated its popular Hunting Lodge for the third time at Sydney Festival in January, bringing the pop-up bar space to the city for the first time. The activation proved a huge success with an estimated 11,000 music fans and festival goers visiting the Jägermeister Hunting Lodge.

Over the following three weeks more than 7,000 Jägermeister drinks were consumed, the most popular of which was Jägermeister and ginger beer with fresh lime, accounting for more than half of all drinks sold.

The authentic Jägermeister Hunting Lodge brings to life the unique heritage and mystique behind the legendary premium spirit, offering a totally new engagement with the brand. Set amongst the greenery of Sydney’s Hyde Park, the Hunting Lodge was at capacity during performances and DJ sets by Tim Finn, Emma Louise, Josh Pyke, Washington, Nick Zinner and Tune-Yards. Music fans were also entertained with surprise one-off performances from Brous, Salvation Street Shout, Ray Beadle, Ngaiire, Gramophone Man and more.

Jonathan Howells, group brand manager said: “The Jägermeister Hunting Lodge offered a unique pop-up space partnered with top musical acts that really appealed to both the Festival and Sydney market. Jägermeister has always aligned itself closely with the music scene and the third appearance of the Hunting Lodge, this time at Sydney Festival, was the most successful yet.”

With a nod to the brand’s heritage, the themed space is made entirely of logs complete with a wooden deck, timber floor, stone fireplace and 12 metre long bar. It was launched in 2011 at Splendour in the Grass, and appeared soon after at the Jägermeister Independent Music Awards in Melbourne. It is a step in a new direction for the iconic brand, inviting people to be part of the Jägermeister story and reappraise the new Jägermeister drinking occasion with the introduction of the Jägermeister and ginger beer long drink.
